Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduation or general equivalency diploma and four years of clerical or secretarial
work experience. Primary responsibility is to answer phone calls for the ND Game & Fish
Department Licensing section. Personal computer experience with Excel and Microsoft Word required. Ability
to handle a fast-paced job with deadlines and numerous telephone calls mixed with walk-in traffic
and mail processing. Must have good communication skills for dealing with the public both in person
and by telephone. Ability to be flexible in daily schedule; work under stress; regular attendance
is essential to efficiently process the volume of work in this position. Must be an active
participant in hunting or fishing and must be knowledgeable about at least one of these areas. Must
have excellent keyboarding skills for data entry work. Type 50 words per minute with 5% or less
error rate. Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Requires satisfactory completion of the interview
process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.

Summary of Work:
Work Schedule: Work schedule will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Monday – Friday. Additional
hours may be required pending workload.
Answer public inquiries about game and fish licensing and hunting and fishing laws. Issue a wide variety of licenses to the public. Open and respond to mail inquiries and orders. Process license lottery applications, including data entry. Personal computer work with spreadsheets, word processing, and data bases. Must be able to develop a high working knowledge of online services provided through the ND Game and Fish online services. Assist with checking county auditor license reports. Assist with the shipping of licenses and applications to the county auditors and license vendors. Other general office duties as assigned.
