Lake LaMoure Open to Access, Boat Traffic

State and local officials have removed access and boat restrictions for most of Lake LaMoure. However, the area near the emergency spillway remains closed to access due to hazardous conditions caused by erosion.

North Dakota Game and Fish Department district game warden Mark Pollert said the water level is down several feet since the restrictions were put in place. “Boaters need to exercise caution, and be aware of the potential of large objects floating near the surface,” Pollert said. “Wednesday we removed several large trees that were adrift.”

Lake LaMoure is located 4 miles south of LaMoure in LaMoure County. The lake had been closed to boat traffic due to floating debris, erosion of the emergency spillway and the need for necessary stabilization.
