March 2009 Fisheries Informational Meetings Video

Introduction

The presentations on this page are bonus editions of Outdoors Online weekly webcast.

The Department’s fisheries division held a series of public information meetings in March at which biologists reviewed the status of the state’s major fisheries, and addressed current management issues.

To provide an opportunity for anglers statewide to learn more about these diverse waters, we taped the biologists’ presentations at the Minot, Devils Lake and Bismarck meetings, highlighting Lake Sakakawea, Devils Lake and Lake Oahe and the Missouri River north to Garrison Dam.

Because of time considerations, question and answer sessions following the formal presentations are not included. However, questions can be directed to fisheries personnel at (701) 328-6300.  Videos are available in Windows Media Format (WMV) only.

Note:  To best understand any one segment the Department advises watching the videos in sequential order.  Also, because these meetings were held in mid-March, water levels will likely be higher than earlier projected.

Minot Meeting - Lake Sakakawea - with Fisheries Biologist Dave Fryda

Devils Lake Meeting - Devils Lake - with Fisheries Biologist Randy Hiltner

Bismarck Meeting - Missouri River/Oahe Reservoir - with Fisheries Biologist Paul Bailey
