North Dakota Photographers Series - Mike LaLonde
Mike LaLonde’s photographs have appeared in North Dakota OUTDOORS magazine for more than two decades, including recent photo essays on great blue herons (June 2013), summer deer (July 2013), and white-faced ibis (July 2014); many magazine covers, and numerous place winners in the annual Watchable Wildlife photo contest.
Now retired and living in Bismarck, Mike got interested in photography as a youngster through his dad, who was a photographer for the Bismarck Tribune. For several years he taught photography as a side job at Bismarck State College, and also in the BSC continuing education program. He’s also done a lot of volunteer photography for the Bismarck Zoo, and has served as an officer in the Lewis and Clark Wildlife Club.
