Summary of Work

Conduct voluntary boater surveys and watercraft inspections at selection locations around Lake Sakakawea. Ideal applicants will live locally and be assigned to cover a specific ramp(s) during the boating season

Essential Functions:

  • Survey watercraft users and perform boat inspections to monitor for the presence of Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS).
  • Educate the public on strategies to prevent the spread of ANS.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the ANS Biologist.
  • Individuals must be able to work weekends and holidays.

*Camper spots may be available at some locations in cooperation with Lake Sakakawea concessionaires. Inquire for details.

Job Duration:

3-5 months but may be longer or shorter depending on need and availability.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess strong verbal communication skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Individuals must be capable of working irregular and holiday hours. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to crouch down and look underneath watercrafts.
