Litter

Pack It In, Pack It Out

District game warden Jayson Lee has noticed an increase of visitors at wildlife management and recreation areas in his patrol area over the last few weeks.

Along with the increased visitation, he has also noticed an increase in littering and property left on the beach and campground areas.

Lee reminds visitors to properly discard trash and unwanted property.

Littering and abandonment of property at a wildlife management area is a violation that carries a fine of $250.
Please take pride in your WMAs and recreation areas and do you part in keeping these special areas clean for others to enjoy. An easy way to do so is to remember that phrase “if you pack it in, pack it out.”

Also, be aware of posted regulations at wildlife management areas throughout the state. Many of these areas have special regulations including glass container, fireworks and camping restrictions.
