Threats
Loss of habitat by draining and cropping/developing wetlands is likely the key driver of population declines.
Research and Monitoring
Statewide pollinator surveys have been completed by the USFWS HAPET team and NDSU.
Pollinator surveys should continue throughout the state to determine species presence in ND.
Management Recommendations
- Protect and manage existing wetlands.
- Develop and pollinator habitat (floral resources) adjacent to wetlands.
- Restore wetlands and use known host plants in adjacent seedings.
- Reduce pesticide use.
