This position will be 20-30 hrs./week depending on workload, hours are somewhat flexible.

Summary of Work

  • We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our team.
  • This position will serve as the main contact for payroll processing, onboarding/offboarding, maintain employee training records, assist with employee benefit enrollment, etc.
  • Duties include accurate and timely processing of payroll and related functions including processing team member hires, changes and terminations as well as, monitoring and managing team member time reporting.
  • Assign and maintain employee training records.
  • This position would be the main department contact for our internal system for tracking time, expenses and mileage, including work/leave time review, new/swap vehicles, verifying employee expenses to be paid, as well as updating GSA rates for lodging and OMB rates for meal, etc.
  • This position would assist with providing team member benefit information and employee benefit enrollment.
  • Other duties could include accounts receivable and/or payable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree in accounting, business or human resources and 3 years of work related experience performing accounting, bookkeeping and/or payroll duties.

Additional college coursework in accounting, business or human resources may substitute for the work requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Applicant must be extremely self-motivated with a positive, out-going personality and attitude.

Applicant must be flexible in daily tasks and be team oriented as well as work independently. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and/or knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and policies related to accounting and payroll. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications, especially Excel.

Must be willing and able to learn additional programs and software as necessary.

Regular attendance is required during peak times of the month.

Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to meet multiple deadlines. Ability to analyze various types of data information.

Ability to relate and communicate with all levels of employees through excellent listening and communications skills. Demonstrated experience to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Requires satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Payroll related experience
  • Work experience using Peoplesoft Enterprise System
  • Work experience with coordinating insurance benefits
  • Microsoft Access
  • Active participant in hunting, fishing and/or boating
