Project Description
In February 2016, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved the North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s (Department) State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP), which is an update of the plan approved in March 2006. The Department’s SWAP is the principle document for safeguarding rare and declining fish and wildlife resources in North Dakota. Approval of the SWAP also allows the Department to continue receiving State Wildlife Grant apportionments. The Department has devoted two staff positions to manage the State Wildlife Grant program and maintain the North Dakota State Wildlife Action Plan as a dynamic document.
