Grass Transition, Management, and/or Use Agreements and Payments
Whether it be short-term transitional rental payments to help bridge the loss of income during the early years of establishing a native grass planting until it’s ready and available for livestock utilization; or longer-term agreements, which incentivized a specific grazing regimen to benefit sensitive species needs; or a bonus payment to allow “walk-in” access for hunting; or, perhaps, an agreement feature to address particular resource protection, the Meadowlark Initiative partnership provides various choices and options that may fit a landowner’s goals.
Benefits
- Offset income loss
- Ease the transition from ag cropping to livestock forage
- Specific management emphasis for focal species
- Sensitive resource protection
