Long-Billed Curlews

Long-billed curlews are North America's largest shorebird. These distinctive birds can be found in North Dakota for about two months each year during nesting season. Because they are in decline across their range, researchers are capturing and fitting some of these birds with transmitters to learn more about their habitat use, migration and hopefully help determine what factors are driving the population loss.
